1) Q. What is a food chain? Explain with an example.
2) Q. How are the of carniores different from those of herbivores?
3) Q. What are parasites? Explain giving two examples.
Question 1
A series of consumption of food is termed as food chain. Each level of food chain is known as a tropic level. There exist various levels in a food chains. For example for a 3 level food chain, the first level consists of producers i.e. plants, second level consists of primary consumers i.e. herbivores or omnivores and third level consists of secondary consumers i.e. carnivores.
An example of a 3 level food chain is
grass ---> deer ---> lion
Here grass is the producer as it makes food, deer is the primary consumer and lion is secondary consumer.
