12(4x - 1/4x)square +5 (4x - 1/4x) -2

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

We have : 12 4 x- 14 x2 + 5 4 x- 14 x  -  2

Let , y  =  4 x- 14 x  , So

12 y2 + 5 y  -  2

12 y2 + 8 y  - 3 y -  2

4 y ( 3 y + 2 ) - 1 ( 3 y + 2 )

( 4 y - 1 ) ( 3 y + 2 ) , So

Zeroes :  y  = 14  and -23

But we assume y  =  4 x- 14 x , So

Case I : 4 x- 14 x = 14

16 x2 - 14 x = 14
16 x2 -  1 =  x

16 x2 - x -  1 = 0

We know quadratic formula : x  = - b ± b2 - 4 a c2 a
Here , a  =  16  , b  = - 1 and c = -  1 , So

x  = -- 1 ± - 12 - 4 × 16 × - 12 × 16 = 1 ± 1+ 6432 = 1 ± 6532 , So
Zeroes :  x = 1 + 6532  and 1 - 6532

Case II : 4 x- 14 x = -23

16 x2 - 14 x = - 23
48 x2 -  3 =  8 x

48 x2 - 8 x -  3 = 0

We know quadratic formula : x  = - b ± b2 - 4 a c2 a
Here , a  =  48  , b  = - 8 and c = -  3 , So

x  = -- 8 ± - 82 - 4 × 48 × - 32 × 48 = 8 ± 64+57696 = 8 ± 64096 = 8 ± 81096 = 1 ± 1012 , So
Zeroes :  x = 1 + 1012  and 1 - 1012

Therefore,

Our solution : x = 1 + 6532  and 1 - 6532 and1 + 1012  and 1 - 1012                                 ( Ans )
