3.What is the modern farming methods? Explain its drawback (disadvantages).

  • Hi,
Modern farming method is also known as green revolution because it made possible for the framers to use high yielding variety of seeds in order to grow wheat and rice. It produced increased number of grains in a single plant and thus, it was possible to produce large amount of grains as compared to the traditional farming methods. The farmers of Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh initiated this method first in India. This led to the greater amounts of surplus grains to sell in the markets.
  • The drawbacks of modern farming:

The HYV seeds promised to produce much greater amounts of grain on a single plant but in turn the the same piece of land nee plenty of water and also chemical fertilizers .
