• A bar magnet falls from a height "h" through a metal ring.will its accelartion be equal, greater,or less than "g"?give reason

Hi Arpita!

Its acceleration will be less than g. If the metal is a ferromagnetic one, the magnet will be attracted to the metal and falls slowly. Even if the metal is not ferromagnetic, the frictional force between the magnet and the metal reduces the acceleration of the magnet.

Cheers!!
