A man purchased 40 fruits; apples and oranges for Rs 17/-. Had he purchased as many oranges as apples and as many apples as oranges, he would have paid Rs 15/- Find the cost of one pair of an apple and an orrange?

Let no of apples = m  nd

Let no of oranges = n

Nd let cost ofan apple = a nd cost of an orange = o

Now m+n= 40 ---- 1

Also a*m + o*n = 17 ----- 2

And a*n + o*m = 15 --- 3

Adding 2 nd 3  v get

… a(m+n) + o (m+n)= 32

… (a+o)*(m+n)= 32

.. frm 1.. a+o = 80 paise..... CHeeeeerSSS !!
