A measuring cylinder contains 50cm of water when a stone of mass 40kg is immersed in it, the new reading is 8 and the water level is 70cm2 find the density  of the stone

meritnation experts pl help me!

i have my phy exam on friday so pl help me!

Given:

Mass of the solid , M = 40kg

Increase in level of water, h = 8 cm = 0.08m

Area of the cylinder, A = 70 cm2 = 0.007m2

Volume of the displaced water, V = A h = 0.00056 m3

=> Density = 40/0.00056 = 7.14 x 10 4 kg/m3
