It has been 3 years now that my grandmother is suffering from Alzheimer's. She is very old and remembers nothing at all. When her conditions started deteriorating it was a very painful phase of life for all of us. I can never forgive myself for not finding enough time to be with her. So, in the last Durga Pujo vacations, I went to stay with her for an entire day. She could not recollect my identity for obvious reason. We talked as strangers for hours. I narrated our childhood days spent together in third person. However the most touching part was when I was leaving, she started weeping. She became very anxious at my departure. • During the nights she told your bedtime stories. The nights were cool with a cool breeze blowing, making the stories even more interesting. Mornings were never so torturous as you were not forced to wake up early.
