A solid cubical block of fine wood costs Rs256 at Rs 500 per m2 . find its volume & the length of each side.

 ANS:  A solid cubical block of fine wood costs Rs256

cost: Rs 500 per m3       [volume measuredin m3]

required:its volume & the length of each side

Cost of 1000000cm3 of block = Rs500            [1m3 = 1000000cm3]

Volume of block in Rs256 = 1000000*256/500 = 512000cm

length of the block = 5120001/3 = 80cm

Ques must be meter sq

COST FOR ONE METER CUBE= 500 RS
ORGINAL COST=256 RS

VOLUME* COST FOR ONE METER CUBE=256
VOLUME=256/500=0.512 M³

VOLUME OF CUBE=A³(A IS THE SIDE)
A³=0.512
A=∛0.512=0.8
SIDE =0.8 m
so
80 cm
