Aluminium is a reactive metal but it is still used for packing food articles. Why?
- easily available
- abundant metal
- reactive metal but it forms a protective oxide layer around itself preventing complete reaction and also does not affect the food at all.
Al is malleable in nature i.e. malleability is the property in which metal or element cam be easily reshaped or hammered without breaking or cracking
So Al forms a layer of oxide over its surface which prevent from being reacted and spoilage of the food
In addition to being highly malleable, aluminium also has good ductility, it means that it can be stretched without breaking.
