an insect trapped in a circular groove of radius 12cm moves along the groove steadily and completes 7 revolutions in 100s.

a)what is angular speed?

b)ehat is linear speed?

c)what is the acceleration?

Given that,

r = 12cm = 0.12m

1. Angular speed = 7 revolution in 100s  (since, 1 revolution = 2*3.14*r)

= 7*(2*3.14*0.12)/(100)

= 0.053 rad/s

Linear speed, v =  Angular speed *radius

=> v = 0.053*0.12 = 6.3*10-3 m/s =0.63 cm/s

2. Value of acceleration is constant here and always acts towards the center.

It is given by

a = v2/r = 0.033 cm/s2.
