Answer these questions ASAP please. Got a test tomorrow,

1.How does 'Must' change when we change the sentence into the reported speech? For eg:

The teacher said, "You must study hard for the test on reported speech."

1)The teacher said that we must study hard for the test on reported speech.

2)The teacher said that we had to study hard for the test on reported speech.

I would go for the first option but turns out that the second option is the right one. How is it so?

2.Samira said, "Monica speaks English very well."

1)Samira said that Monica spoke English very well.

2)Samira said that Monica speaks English very well.

I thought the second option is right as the sentence seems to express a fact; a fact is expressed in the simple present tense right? However, the answer seems to be the first option. I can't trust these answers fully, so go ahead and tell me what YOU have learnt and feel is correct.

'Must' changes to 'had to' in reported speech. This is because, there is no past tense form for the modal verb 'must'.

For your second query: in case of sentences like this (that states a fact or is still relevant or if it is an universal truth) you may choose to keep the original tense or change it; both options are correct.

Direct   S- The father odered " You must has to secure good percentage".

Indirect S- The father said angerily that I must has to secure good percentage.

the tense and the must interchange to make a meaning full sentence.

I would suggest you check your grammar and spellings and then type the answers. This answer is of no help to me, it's got nothing to do with my question.

In reported speech we have to change the sentence into past tense .I guess this has answered your doubt . If not ..... think harder .
