Hi!

Antony was Caesar's loyal friend. Brutus , on stabbing Caesar tries all he could do to take the mob away with him. Antony claims that he was no orator, but Brutus is. He tries to create a impression in the mob of his character. Antony , being the noble men was successful in swaying and manipulating by question Caesar's ambition. He touched the feelings of the mob and did proved that Brutus was wrong, and he was right. And through his oration, he proves Brutus and the conspirators as traitors and butchers. Thus, at the end his oration , leads to instigation of mob. Thus, he was a great orator.

Cheers!

Best of Luck!

Mark antony was a gifted and powerful orator. In his funeral speech,he uses irony, satire, pathetic tones and sacrasm in order to convince people that ceaser was not ambitious. He repeatedly calls brutus 'an honourable man 'in an ironical manner. Then he reminds the crowd that the ceaser had refused the crown offered to him thrice. Then he tells the mob that ceaser was kind and loved the people. He has left a will in which ceaser has provided 75 silver coins to each people of rome. The roman people are swayed by antony 's powerful speech and they run to punish the conspirators.

Mark Antony cleverly counters the arguments made by Brutus, who had made his speech just prior to him, all the while innocently maintaining that Brutus and company were noblemen, he (Antony) had no intention to oppose them, he was no orator and that he merely spoke the truth. He talks about the various achievements of Caesar and several of his conquests which were in the benefit of Rome and its people. He further gives instances like Caesar's rejection of the crown thrice and asks the people whether this seemed ambitious on Caesar's part in any way. Moreover, heasks them that how could they forget the good deeds of such a man who fought for them and loved them, and how could they be unable to mourn the death of such a country-serving person. He presents the will of Caesar very dramatically making the crowd grow extremely sentimental. After making the crowd emotionally charged, he gradually begins talking of the betrayal of the senators regarding Caesar, pointing out the wounds and very pathetically describing them to the public. Thus, he,through his oratory, mobilises the crowd in favour of Caesar and against his murderers as he had vowed to do earlier in the play.
