${L i}^{+}_{2} {σ 1 s}^{2} {σ * 1 s}^{2} {σ 2 s}^{1} B . O = \frac{3 - 2}{2} = 0.5$

${L i}^{-}_{2} {σ 1 s}^{2} {σ * 1 s}^{2} {σ 2 s}^{2} {σ * 2 s}^{1} B . O = \frac{4 - 3}{2} = 0.5$

Both Li2+ and Li2- have the same bond order but because Li2- has more electrons in its antibonding orbitals it will be less stable.

thus the order is

Li₂>Li₂⁺>Li₂^-
