artificial rain is caused by spraying salts over clouds. explain?

Clouds are colloidal dispersion of water particles in air. These water particles carry some charge over them. On spraying oppositely charged colloidal dust or sand particles over a cloud from an aeroplane, the colloidal water particles present in the cloud will get neutralized and as a result they will come closer and will grow in size to form bigger water drops and ultimately will coagulate or precipitate causing artificial rain.

[Coagulation is the process of aggregating together the colloidal particles so as to change them into large sized particles which ultimately settle as a precipitate.]

Clouds posseses charge. So when salts are sprayed, the clouds will adsorb the oppositely charged particles, hence they get neutralized. Consequently they participate in the formaion of artificial rain.

The first stage is agitation. That is using chemicals to stimulate the air mass upwind of the target area to rise and form rain clouds.

The second stage is called building-up stage. Here the cloud mass is built up using chemicals  to increase nuclei which also increase the density of the clouds.
