in just 100-120 words.......any1 der?????????

Camillo di Cavour was successful in uniting Italy under the crown of Sardinia. In 1855, the kingdom of Sardinia participated on the British and French side of the Crimean War. In 1858, Cavour formed an alliance with France that included a pledge of military support against Austria, Italy's major obstacle to unification. Austria declared war against Sardinia in 1859 and was easily defeated by the French army. The peace treaty of November 1959 signed in Zurich, Switzerland, made Lombardy, a former Austrian province, a part of Sardinia. In 1860, armed volunteers under Garibaldi liberated Sicily and Naples, which together made up the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Assemblies in the central Italian provinces of Tuscany, Parma, Modena, and Romagna voted in favor of unification with Sardinia in the summer of 1859. In 1861, Italy was declared a united nation-state under the Sardinian king Victor Immanuel II.

After having defeated the Austrians at Marengo in 1800(second campaign of Italy), the austrain emperor Francis I lost the control of all italians territories, those territories weren't unified yet.
Napoleon was considered as a liberator, at this time he was First Consul of France and the Italians gave him for the first time the title of President of the Republic of Italy.
Napoleon created the actual italian flag, red, white, green that looks like the french flag.
He divides Italy like France was divided, by departments, each of them was leaded by a Prefet executing the imperial orders.
Anyway the south of Italy was administrated by a king, the first was Napoleon's brother : Joseph, later in 1808, Joseph was appointed king of Spain and was replaced by Field Marshall Murat.

When he became emperor of the French in 1804, in 1805 he went to Italy and received the Iron crown and became king of Italy.

But he lost the throne after the first abdication in 1814, so Italy was replaced into the austrian empire as it was before Bonaparte.

You have to wait for the real unification, the reign of Napoleon III who backed Cavour, you will get infos by typing these keywords : Cavour, Napoleon III, Italy on Internet.
