Brutus rigid idealism is both his greatest virtue and his most deadly flaw.Explain.

Brutus was an idealist and a true patriot. The conspirators took advantage of this and misled him to believe that Caesar was becoming over ambitious and was proving to be dangerous to the country. The idealist in Brutus believed this although he was Caesar's good friend and knew him well. This idealism proved to be a flaw in Brutus because he killed Caesar who trusted him. The same idealism made him part ways with Cassius when he came to know about his practical ways. When defeated in the battle, Brutus committed suicide.
