Calculate the amount of work done in rotating a dipole, of dipole moment 3 x 10-8Cm, from its position of stable equilibrium to the position of unstable equilibrium of uniform electric field 104N/C..

w.d= -P*E(COS X2-COSX1)

HERE,X1=COS0=1(STABLE)

X2=COS180=-1(UNSTABLE)

SO, W.D=3*10^-8  *10^4  *(1+1)         (MINUS SIGNS CANCELLED)

=48*10^-4 J.....

i think ur formula is wrong

i think this is the correct one.

w.d=pe(cosx1-cosx2)

where x1->initial angle

x2->final angle

pls clorrect me if i am wrong
