calculate the molar mass of CO2, H2SO4, NaCl?

Molar mass of CO2 = molar mass of carbon + 2 (molar mass of oxygen)

 = 12 + 2 (16) = (12 + 32) = 44 g

Molar mass of H2SO4 = 2 (molar mass of hydrogen) + molar mass of sulphur + 4 (molar mass of oxygen)

 = [2 (1) + 32 + 4(16)]

 = 98 g

Molar mass of NaCl = molar mass of sodium + molar mass of chlorine

 = (23+ 35.5) g

 = 58.5 g

Hi,

Molar mass is the mass of one mole of the substance..

it can be found by the molecular mass in grams :)

for example.. if an element had a molecular mass of 56.. its molar mass would be 56 g.

So for your question, the MOLAR masses are.

Molar mass of CO2=Molecular mass of CO2

Carbon dioxide is an inorganic compound. The molecular formula for carbon dioxide is CO2. One atom of carbon and two atoms of oxygen are present in one molecule of carbon dioxide gas. Carbon dioxide is produced when an organic compound is burnt in the presence of oxygen. Carbon dioxide is used during the reaction of photosynthesis. Plants use CO2 and water in the presence of sunlight to yield oxygen gas and complex molecules for example, glucose.

The mass of one mole of a substance is called molar mass of the substance. The molar mass of carbon dioxide is 44 grams per mole. It can be calculated as;

Molar mass of CO2 = 12 + 2*16

Molar mass of CO2= 12 + 32 = 44

The Molar mass of H2SO4=

The molar mass of H2SO4 (sulfuric acid) is merely the atomic weights of each individual atom in the molecule. By examining the molecule, we see it has two hydrogen atoms, one sulfur atom, and four oxygen atoms. To find the total molar mass, add each atomic weight of each atom in the compound. The weights of each atom can be found in the Periodic Table of the Elements.

H2SO4 molar masses of H =1 , of S=31 of O=16

molar mass =2*1+32*1+16*4=98g

Similarly,The molar mass of NaCl is

Na is appx 23 g/mol
Cl is appx 35.5 g/mol

so 23 + 35.5 = 58.5 g/mol

also the unit of molar mass is g/mol.

I hope you understood Dinesh Jadav.
