Calculate the number of molecules of sulphur (S8) present in 16 g of solid sulphur.

In this question why do we multiply the avagadro number? We are to find number of molecules, so why we take out moles?????????????? plzzzzzz reply

Atomic mass of S = 32g
Molecular mass of S8 = 8 × 32 = 256g
Given mass of S8 = 16g
Since 1 mole of S8 having mass 256g contains 6.022 × 1023 molecules of sulphur.
Therefore, 16g of S8 will contain = 6.022×1023256×16 = 3.76 × 1022  molecules.

 molecular mass of sulphur s8= 32 (which is atomic mass of s ) x 8

                                                       = 256 u

so, one mole of s8 molecule is 256 g and  1 mole of s8 molecule contains 6.022 x 10 exponent 23.

so, no of moles present in 16 g os solid sulphur=

16/256 =0.0625 moles

so, no of molecules present in 16g of s8  = 6.022 x 10 exponent 23 x 0.0625 

=0.376375x 10 exponent 23
