An acknowledgement helps you thank the people who helped you out while you wrote your thesis, book, report, etc. You might want to begin by thanking the Almighty and then come on to parents, teachers, friends, scholars and other people who had helped or supported you with your work. You can also add names of editors, companies, organisations, etc. whose study material had helped you form the thesis.

Few rules which you need to remember while writing an acknowledgement:

• Use polite and formal language. Sound neutral and be proper in expression.

• There is very limited space so make sure your acknowledgement is crisp and concise.

• Always pay due attention to the spelling of names, titles and honours

• Avoid irony and be amiable.
