Compare the poem Not marble nor gilded monuments to poem Ozymandias

These two poems are greatly similiar to each other as in both the poems the poets remark that, time is an unstopable force . Nothing can remain in front of this majestic force .Ever materialistic things erected on this earth can be turned to dust in a matter of years .

The poets also mention in their poems that the only things that remain are the beautiful lines of poets and the artistic works of sculptors are left untouched by the effect  ofg the sluttish time.

The approach of two poets is to the power of time is distinctly different.Shakespeare feels that time reduces to dust ,all the ornate statues and magnificant works of masonry .However,it cannot rob poetry of its power to immortalize the pre-eminence of the great character of the world, such herores continue to live in the words of poets and the hearts of  the people and time fails to fade the fame of such people.

On the other hand Shelley finds time to be more filarious and levels the glory pomp and splendour of even the mightiest of the mighty and pushes thier glory into total oblivion
