dear sir, in chem practicals [salt analysis] how many types of salt we have? & can u name all the salt.

i hope u 'll help me .plz

thank u

Salt is formed when cation of base and anion of acid combine together. Generally the salts do not change colour of litmus. e.g. NaCl is called common salt used in food.

Every salt is formed by combination of cations and anion.

In salt analysis we have to perform various tests to identify these cations and anions.

There can a large number of possible salts some of those are..

NaCl,KCl,KBr,NaBr, AlCl3,MgSO4,MgCl2,MgF2,BaCl3,PbSO4 etc..

Here

NaCl has Na+ cation and Cl- anion

KCl has K+ cation and Cl- anion.

KBr has  K+ cation and Cl- anion.

NaBr has Na+ cation and Br- anion.

AlCl3,  has Al3+ cation and  three Cl- ion.

MgSO4, has Mg2+ cation and SO42- anion

MgCl2,  has Mg2+ cation and two Cl- anion

MgF2,  has Mg2+ cation and two F- anion

BaCl3, has Ba3+ cation and three Cl- anion

PbSO4 has Pb2+ cation and SO42- anion
