Dear sir/mam,

i have got different values pH scale and the colour changes are also different in some samples. i havent used different solutions ,they are the same as the one in this video. how is this possible ? are there different types of pH paper or is there any mistake in the activity.

It is not necessary that a given chemical substance obtained from two different sources will always show exactly the same results. Depending upon the method of preparation, storing and methods employing for purification of substance, a slight variation in properties such as melting point, boiling point, density and even pH may be observed. In fact a slight variation in observed values is expected, since working conditions are different everywhere. As long as the pH values and colour changes are not drastically different, it is not a cause of worry. Similar pH values and colour changes for the same substance are very much acceptable.
