  • Internet is used for digging up information. For instance, cooking tips, wise quotes, word meanings, games, videos, etc.

  • Internet has also promoted e-learning. Attaining information and knowledge through the digital media has fastened the process of gaining education.

  • Internet has made life very convenient. With numerous online services you can now perform all your transactions online. You can book tickets for a movie, transfer funds, pay utility bills, taxes etc., right from your home. Some travel websites even plan an Itinerary as per your preferences and take care of airline tickets, hotel reservations etc.

  • Disadvantages of internet can be cited when we talk about production and promotion of vulgar porn videos. It disturbs an ethical environment and spoils children.

  • Flipping through pages of a book has become a thing of the past. You search for anything on www.google.com and its there in front of you.

  • Internet users are often affected by virus attacks. Even if one clicks a very harmful site, it is exposed to danger of virus which might corrupt the entire system.

  • Thanks to Internet, socialising is the only place where people meet. Rest, playing among kids or sitting over a cup of coffee with your friends have become a thing of the past. The virtual world has made our shoulders stoop. This may hamper a healthy social development in children.

Today, Computers have evolved to become not only our companions, but alos our good friends. Well, computer is a device that lets us convert raw data into meningful information. Its input devices take in data from us, its processing device processes raw data into meaningful information, its output devices display the result and its storage devices store the processed data permanently. It has aided in letting us do the work which our forefathers used to do in hours, in just seconds and minutes. It is used in offices, Schools, police stations, hospitals, scientific labs and engineering. it is even used to play games, watch movies, listen songs and do much more. In spite of all these, there are certain disadvantages of computers as well. Working with computers for a long time causes head pain. It has led to deterioration of the small children. It has made the children spectacled.

So, to coclude, computers have advantages as well as disadvantages and we must make a balanced use of computers to protect ourselves from its disadvantages.

 I stand before you to say speech on the topic for the topic internet. The Internet is probably one of the greatest, most powerful, and most useful tool to be invented perhaps of the entire last millennium. This is arguable, as you will no doubt see in my opponent's argument the negative effects of the Internet on our society. Definitions are simple: the Internet is used here to mean the World Wide Web, and other Internet-based communications. Society means the world as a whole, internet users and hosts alike. Positive effect is to convey that the Internet has been beneficial to society. Furthermore: I have classified this debate under "society" to indicate that the debate is not primarily about the technology of the Internet, but, as the title suggests, its effects on society.

The Internet has become a crucial tool in modern life. It is estimated that over 1 billion people have regular access to the internet. The modern economy, and most modern businesses now have a heavy reliance on it. The internet itself is a huge profit centre. Many people now cannot imagine living without the internet. It provides easy access to even the most obscure of information, allows people to share their opinions and other often useful content with anyone who has access to the internet, and it enables users to have cheap communications with anyone around the world, even instantly. It even has given people the chance to fall in love with like-minded people within just minutes! It can be used for educational, commercial, social, and entertainment purposes, and while many people have many complaints to make about the Internet, even they cannot deny the usefulness of the Internet.
