describe briefly the efforts on finding the accomodation for night at datchet. What was the outcome ?

When the three men reached Datchet, they passed a pretty little hotel. But they didn't choose it for staying since there was no honeysuckle about it, and, for some reason or other, the author had got his mind fixed on honeysuckle. They went ahead and came to another hotel. That was a very nice hotel too, and it had honey-suckle on it, round at the side; but Harris did not like the appearance of the man who was leaning against the front door. So, they left it as well. After some time on finding no more hotels, they asked a man about them. He said they have already crossed the two available there. On hearing this, they came back to the Stag. But, there were no rooms available. They went to the Manor House. But, the landlady also turns them away. She directs them to a beer shop half a mile down the Eton road. They could get no rooms there and were directed to the grocer's next door. They get no place there as well and finally they meet a small boy who offers them one room at his mother's place.
