Helen had great love for history and literature. It was Bunker Hill who gave her first lesson in history. She was excited to be at the monument that carried with it the story of the brave men.  Again, she was full of enthusiasm when she went to the Plymouth Rock.  She had great interest in History and she appreciated past.

She was also fond of literature and Shakespeare was her favourite. She read many of his writings. She read many books such as, ‘As You Like It’, ‘Speech on Conciliation with America’, and ‘Life of Samuel Johnson’. She also had some knowledge of the Bible.
