Thrust it a force that is sent out from a object through its own propulsion. E.G. a jet engine creates thrust and pushes a aeroplane along. Pressure is a force that is put on a object. E.G. when a submarine dives the water pushes in on it, This is Pressure.

Thrust is Force. Though thrust is force, we use this term in the case of fluids only and we do not use this for solid objects.
.
If a solid object of mass m is at rest on a surface, and the contact surface area is A. The force acting on that area is mg, the weight of the object. Whatever the shape of the object, the force acting on the area of contact will be the same as the weight of the object.

In the case of liquids, it is different, the force that is acting on the contact area is not termed as force, and instead it is called thrust to differentiate the force acted on by a solid. Whatever is the area of contact the thrust (force) is determined not by the weight of the liquid over it, but it is determined only by the vertical water height (and density) of the liquid.

In the case of solids, the force acting per unit area is called stress and in the case of fluids the thrust acting on unit area is called pressure.

The pressure at any point inside a liquid on a horizontal surface will be the same, whereas the stress (pressure) at a point on a horizontal surface of a solid will be different at different points.

hope dis helpz u..!!

Thrust is a force acting perpendicularly.Pressure is the result of force acting upon area.

Suppose you have to fix a poster on your class bulletin board, you have to apply force on the head of the drawing pin, i.e., the force is perpendicular to the surface of the bulletin board and this force which is acting perpendicular to the surface is called thrust.

perpendicular force applied on an object

Force Applied is Perpendicular to the Board

S.I unit of thrust is Newton (N)

Hold your bag with a strap made of a thin but strong string. Now lift the same bag with another strap made of a wide cloth band. You will find that carrying a school bag with a wide cloth band is more comfortable than carrying the same with a thin strip. This is because in the second case the weight of the books is distributed over a large area of the shoulder exerting less force.

Thus from the above examples it is clear that the effectiveness of the force applied depends on the area on which it is acting.

Now there arises a need to define a new physical quantity called pressure.

Pressure is defined as the force acting on a unit area.

formula to find the pressure

S.I unit of pressure is N/m2. N/m2 is known as Pascal (Pa) in honour of the French Scientist Blaise Pascal.
