There are two different types of monsoon winds. These are:
1.Summer Monsoon winds that blow from the sea to the land carry enough moisture. These winds cause heavy rainfall in the months of June and July. The summer monsoon winds blow south-west; so they are known as the ‘South-West Summer Monsoons’.
2.Winter Monsoon winds that blow from land to sea and carry less moisture. They are incapable of giving rain. The winter monsoon winds blow north-east; so the monsoon is known as the ‘North-East Winter Monsoons’.
