differentiate between-

a) bone and cartilage

b)tracheids and vessels

c)tendon and ligament

d)axon and dendron....

thanks!!!

Differences between tendon and ligament
Tendon
Ligament
Tendons are connective tissue that connects bones to muscles.
Ligaments are connective tissue that connects two bones.
They are strong and less flexible.

They are very elastic and flexible.
It is composed of white fibrous tissue.
It contain very less matrix and composed of yellow fibrous connective tissue.

BONE : A very strong and non-flexible tissue.Blood vessels are present and matrix is made up of protiens and mineral salts. Provides shape to the body.

CARTILAGE : A cartilage is compact and flexible tissue. Blood vessels are absent matrix made up of protiens. Provides support and flexiblity to the body parts.

TRACHEIDS : The walls of tracheids are very thick wih narrow lumen. They are elongated cells with tapering ends. Single celled.

VESSELS : The walls of vessels are less thick and they have wider lumen. They are long tube like structures formed by a row of cells placed end to end.

thanx.... and the answers to other qs?

TENDON : Tendons are cord-like,strong, inelastic tissues that joins skeletal muscles to bones. Thus, a tendon is a white fibrous tissue.

LIGAMENT : They are elastic structures that connects bones to bones. A ligament is made up of white as well as yellow fibres.

Dendrites are the branched projections of a neuron that act to conduct the electrical stimulation received from other neural cells to the cell body, or soma, of the neuron from which the dendrites project. Electrical stimulation is transmitted onto dendrites by upstream neurons via synapses which are located at various points throughout the dendritic arbor. Dendrites play a critical role in integrating these synaptic inputs and in determining the extent to which action potentials are produced by the neuron. An axon or nerve fiber, is a long, slender projection of a nerve cell, or neuron, that conducts electrical impulses away from the neuron's cell body or soma.Dendrites are the branched projections of a neuron that act to conduct the electrical stimulation received from other neural cells to the cell body, or soma, of the neuron from which the dendrites project.  @shaivyy- yes...this has helped a lot....thanx!

@nithu- for the 100th time thanx!

the dendrites are at what's called the pre-synaptic end of the neuron. That is, they are where the signals are received. The axon is the part where the signal is transported to the next presynaptic cell or effector organ. Axon terminals allow chemical messages to pass out of the post-synaptic membrane and through the extracellular matrix to the destination.
