Diffrentiate between sclerenchyma fibres and sclereids???
Sclerenchyma Fibres:
- They are elongated, spindle-shaped, thick walled dead cells.
- They are arranged in bundles , nets and cylinders.
- They donot form covering of any plant organ.
- They provide mechanical strength.
Sclereids:
- They are broad thick-walled dead cells.
- They occur singularly or in small groups.
- They form hard covering of nuts and seeds.
- They provide stiffness.
