Diffrentiate between sclerenchyma fibres and sclereids???

Sclerenchyma Fibres:

  1. They are elongated, spindle-shaped, thick walled dead cells.
  2. They are arranged in bundles , nets and cylinders.
  3. They donot form covering of any plant organ.
  4. They provide mechanical strength.

Sclereids:

  1. They are broad thick-walled dead cells.
  2. They occur singularly or in small groups.
  3. They form hard covering of nuts and seeds.
  4. They provide stiffness.
