FERROUS AND NON -FERROUS :----
1. minerals that contain iron are called ferrous minerals while the minerals that do not contain iron are called non ;ferrous .
2. ferrous minerals contain only iron but the non ferrous minerals also consist of other minerals like gold , copper ,silver etc.
3.some examples of ferrous mineral;s are manganese , iron ore and chromites while aluminium etc . are the examples of non ferrous ones .
METALLIC AND NON-METALLIC MINERALS :---
1.metallic minerals contain metals while non metallic do not contain metals.
2.metallic mionerals may also be ferrous or non-ferrous and , minerals like coal and petroleum also fall under the category of non metallic minerals .
3. some examples of metallic ones are bauxite , iron ore and examples of non - metallic ones are minerals like limestone .
