essay on nature conservation

These questions focus on developing your writing and creative skills. We recommend that you frame such answers on your own. However, a few pointers are given below for your reference:

  • Earth has provided us with innumerable natural resources
  • we have over-exploited Earth's gift
  • we must be more sensitive towards nature
  • we must try to adopt a sustainable lifestyle
  • we can plant more trees
  • avoid using plastics
  • recycle as much as we can
  • always use dustbins

 nature should be conserved

Forests are one of the most important natural resources that have been gifted to mankind for their sustained existence on earth. Without question, they provide us with huge amounts of tangible and intangible benefits, without which indeed, all life, less to say human life, would fall under the risk of extinction. Hence, it is vital for us to realize this importance of forest cover, conserve them, and ultimately work towards a sustainable way to maintain our forests and meet our needs at the same time.

We should be proud of our country’s natural bounty and unique bio-diversity.   India is amongst the rare countries where major biomes of the world are represented. India is one among the twelve countries where 60-70% of the world’s total biodiversity exists. India has two out of the 18 biodiversity hot spots in the world.

India has rich traditional knowledge and wisdom in the conservation of nature and natural resources.   Religious beliefs, culture and folklore have together treated nature and environment with sanctity.   Conservation and protection of environment and love for nature have always been part and parcel of Indian ethos and culture.

Independent India has traveled a long way on the path of progress and industrialization in order to achieve better quality of life.   We have accelerated the process of development without considering the adverse impact on nature and environment. The development without care for environment has posed threats to the very existence of life itself.

Now the realization that mere progress and economic development cannot solve all our problems has increased. Development and environment should go hand in hand. Sustainable development is the new paradigm.

The Ministry of Environment and Forests has drawn many programmes and policies to combat these problems.   Steps are being taken to preserve the pristine eco-systems through establishment of Wildlife Sanctuaries, National Parks and Biosphere Reserves. More and newer areas are being brought into-the protected areas status. At the same time, steps have been •taken for welfare of the forest people, particularly the tribals, who have lived in the forests for centuries and who are also repository of traditional knowledge on conservation and sustainable utilization.
The National Museum of Natural History is an important institutional tool for spreading awareness on the evolution of our Universe and life on it. It has played a strong and active role in creating life..!!

What are we doing to protect our surroundings? Garbage heaps are increasing and disposal of waste seems an alarming task. People are becoming insensitive towards plants and animals thereby harming our ecosystem.

As a student, what have you done to protect our environment? Do you know why we need to conserve our wildlife?  We must make a conscious effort to conserve the world's plants and animals. Plants are essential for our own survival. Plants use the sun's energy to make food—a process called photosynthesis.

Therefore plants are the first important link in the food chain of which humans also form a part. During photosynthesis, oxygen is released and oxygen is vital for the existence of life itself.

Animals need plants in order to survive, but plants also need animals. Animals and plants are therefore delicately bound together. The removal of even one species of animal/plant can drastically alter the ecosystem. Isn't this frightening?

Our own survival may be threatened if we cause too much disruption to the natural processes that occur on this Earth. Destruction of rain forests, for example, has reduced the local rainfall. A further reduction in rainfall will increase desert areas.

We need to preserve our wildlife as well. We use many plants and animals to supply us with food, materials, chemicals, etc. If we continue to exploit these species to a point where they cannot replenish themselves, they will no longer be available to us.

Gradually if we manage to destroy most of the world's animals and plants, the Earth will become barren. For a moment, let us stop being selfish. Do we have the right to destroy animals and plants which have as much right as us, humans, to share this planet?

All life on Earth, be it humans, animals or plants, is the product of millions of years of evolution. This tiny planet is the only one we know of on which life exists. Therefore, we need to learn to co-exist with the species which have evolved with us, and take active steps to ensure their survival.

hope its enuff..!! isnt it..??

essay on global warming

  • -1
What is Global warming: There is a perceptible change in the average temperature of the atmosphere through out the world. This increase in the average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere is known as GLOBAL WARMING. The summers are becoming hotter and longer, and the winters are turning out to be more freezing (recent increased snowfall witnessed in Northern Hemisphere) and longer. Not to mention that the spring and autumn are becoming shorter. Let us try to understand what has caused this change in climate, and what are the effects of this change?
Earth is the only planet suitable to human life known to us in the Universe. Other planets are either too hot or too cold to support the life. What sets planet Earth apart is the Earth’s atmosphere, and Green House Effect. Planet Earth receives the heat from Sun in form of radiation during the day. The heat radiation from Sun enters the earth’s atmosphere, and gets reflected back from the earth surface. Earth’s atmosphere consists of different gases, and some gases’ atoms have the property to trap the heat; these gases are termed as green house gases (e.g. CO2, CH4 etc.), and the phenomenon of heat-trapping is called the Green House Effect. Owing to the Green House Effect, a part of the reflected heat is trapped in the atmosphere. The heat trapped by the atmosphere during the day saves the earth from cooling down to the freezing temperate during night when there is no heat radiation received by Earth.
This is a very delicate balance and directly depends on the quantity of Green house gases in the atmosphere. Higher the percentage of the

The greenhouse effect, in environmental science, is a popular term for
the effect that certain variable constituents of the Earth's lower atmosphere
have on surface temperatures. It has been known since 1896 that Earth has been
warmed by a blanket of gasses (This is called the "greenhouse effect.").   The
gases--water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), and methane (CH4)--keep ground
temperatures at a global average of about 15 degrees C (60 degrees F).   Without
them the average would be below the freezing point of water.   The gases have
this effect because as incoming solar radiation strikes the surface, the surface
gives off infrared radiation, or heat, that the gases trap and keep near ground
level.   The effect is comparable to the way in which a greenhouse traps heat,
hence the term.   Environmental scientists are concerned that changes in the
variable contents of the atmosphere--particularly changes caused by human
activities--could cause the Earth's surface to warm up to a dangerous degree.
Since 1850 there has been a mean rise in global temperature of approximately 1°
C (approximately 1.8° F).   Even a limited rise in average surface temperature
might lead to at least partial melting of the polar icecaps and hence a major
rise in sea level, along with other severe environmental disturbances.   An
example of a runaway greenhouse effect is Earth's near-twin planetary neighbor
Venus.   Because of Venus's thick CO2 atmosphere, the planet's cloud-covered
surface is hot enough to melt lead.
Water vapor is an important "greenhouse" gas.   It is a major reason why
humid regions experience less cooling at night than do dry regions,.   However,
variations in the atmosphere's CO2 content are what have played a major role in
past climatic changes.   In recent decades there has been a global increase in
atmospheric CO2, largely as a result of the burning of fossil fuels.   If the
many other determinants of the Earth's present global climate remain more or
less...
