most of the local/small producers do not bring their products to market.inorder they export them,this major
misunderstanding is a big disadvantage to this sector that the spinners have to import the good yarn as all the good
yarn produced in INDIA is being exported.

1. Forced cultivation of Indigo and other plantation crops on agricultural land changing the cropping pattern
2. Decline of textile industry due to rapid industrialization in the west followed by production of machine made textile on large scale.
3. Flooding of Indian markets by foreign goods due to liberalised customs duties and decline in Indian exports.
Decline in export of textile industry.
4. Shrunk in local market

(i) Power supply is erratic. Regular power supply without breaks is mandatory for this industry.
(ii) Output of labour is low because the machinery is outdated. Particularly in the weaving and processing sectors, the machinery needs to be upgraded.
(iii) This industry faces stiff competition from the synthetic fibre industry in terms of cost and convenience of use.

.the textile was unable to produce more goods due to lack of raw cotton as British turned India for cotton.
.due to heavy imposition of taxes on them selling of goods was very slow in comparison to Manchester goods
.due to less money from sells they were forced to buy raw cotton at an exorbitant price
