explain the difference between the Net Sown Area and Gross Cropped Area?

The net sown area in a country is the total area of  the land sown with crops. The area which is sown more than once is counted as sown one time only.
Whereas, Gross sown area is the area that is sown more than once in an agricultural area plus the net sown area.

Net Sown area is the total area sown with crops in a country. Area sown more than once is counted once only.

Gross sown area is the area sown more than once in an agricultural year plus net sown area.

So, for example if you have a 1 acre field, you have a net sown area of 1 acre (if and when it is sown).
If it is sown 3 times in a year, then you have a gross crop area of 3 acres, which might cover the spring/summer sowing and maybe the _current_ autumn .

Net Sown Area is the total area sown in one year. In this case, an area sown more than once is counted once only.

Gross Cropped Area is the total area sown in one area plus the net sown area.

So, for example if you have a 1 acre field, you have a net sown area of 1 acre (if and when it is sown).

If it is sown 3 times in a year, then you have a gross crop area of 3 acres.
