Explain the distribution of iron in India?
Iron so as to say iron ore is distributed all over India in four belts-
1.Orrissa-Jharkhand Belt- It supports haematite type of iron ore, in the areas of Badampahar in Mayur bhunj and khendujhar district. It is found in singbhum in district,Gua, Noamundi in Jharkhand
2.Durg-Bastar Chandrapur Belt- It lies in Chattishgarh and Maharastra, Very high grade haematites are found here and exported to Japan and korea.
3.Bellary- Chitradurga- Chikmaglur- Tumkur Belt- It lies in Karnataka.Kudremukh mines are included in it which is one of the world's largest. They are 100% exported.
4.Maharastra-Goa Belt-It includes the state of Goa and Ratnagiri district of Maharastra. It is exported through Marmagao Port in Goa
