explain the impact of industrialisation on urban areas

Industrialization helped to speed up the process of modernization. It helped to to develop proper system of communication and transportation. FAmily structure was also affected. In the seventeenth century, the family was the centre of production. The situation however, changed with the beginning of industrialization as the productive work now shifted to the industries. It was thus no longer essential for the working mass to establish ties with relatives or his community. Rather moving for jobs and spending more time in the workplace helped them to earn better. Nepotism gave way to hiring and promotion on merit alone. Industry had become the monopoly of men. Thus, the middle class women became restricted to the household solely. These factors indeed caused the ties between the family members to get loosened.
