explain the phrase ,"justice delayed is justice denied."

"Justice delayed is justice denied" is a legal maxim meaning that if legal redress is available for a party that has suffered some injury, but is not forthcoming in a timely fashion, it is effectively the same as having no redress at all. This principle is the basis for the right to a speedy trial and similar rights which are meant to expedite the legal system, because it is unfair for the injured party to have to sustain the injury with little hope for resolution. The phrase has become a rallying cry for legal reformers who view courts or governments as acting too slowly in resolving legal issues either because the existing system is too complex or overburdened, or because the issue or party in question lacks political favor.

justice is the very foundation of the state. without judicial system there can be no state worth the name. the judiciary is rightly called the shield of innocence and the guardian of civil right. but for a good judiciary it is essential that justice should be impartial, speedy and cheap. but in india justice is not speedy. the position is the worst in civil cases. unnecessary litigation, needlessappeals, dilatory procedures etc. have actually denied justice to people. justice delayed is justice denied. if justice is delayed and justice is not really done to people, then tjhe life and property cannot be safe. in india, it is very difficult to get house vacated from the tennant. generally civil cases are decided in 15 to 30 years. need is justice should be quick and speedy.
