explain the process of artificial selection by taking the example of wild cabbage

plant

Wild cabbage provides a very good example of artificial selection. Cabbage is produced by selecting for plants that have closely spaced leaves.  Cauliflower is made by selecting for sterile flowers. When wild cabbage is selected for its swollen parts then we get kohlrabi as a result of artificial selection. Kale is a vegetable made by selecting for larger leaves.

the process by which humans have developed the species variation is called artificial selection. humans for more than two thousand years cultivated wild cabbage as a food plant, and generated different vegetables from it by selection.some farmers wantes to select for very short distances between leaves, and so have bred the cabbage we eat. Some have wanted to select forarrested flower development, and have bred broccoli,or for sterile flowers, and have made the cauliflower. Some have selected

for swollen parts, and come up with kohlrabi. Some have simply looked

for slightly larger leaves, and come up with a leafy vegetable called kale.so different vegetables have evolved from wild cabbage by artificial selection.
