We should not talk or laugh when we are eating because it can cause sudden death.

When we laugh or talk with full mouth the epiglottis move or vibrates and the food goes in to the respiratory system. The function of the epiglottis is to keep the windpipe or trachea closed.

We should not talk when mouth full because both food pipe and windpipe share a common passage. The passage is divided into two parts. The windpipe passage is closed when food enters the food pipe. But when we talk, we inhale which does not closes the passage of the windpipe and if food enters the windpipe, we get a choking sensation and sometime if more food or water gets inside the windpipe, it can lead to death.
