Because most of India's economy is comes from farming and agriculture...the people who can't afford to be educated usually work in agriculture... Almost 34 of India's population is in agriculture ... Due to these reasons agriculture is the backbone of India's economy... Hope this helps, thumbs up please

It is because agriculture is traditionaly practised in India from thousands of years ago on ward .Most people who cannot find a proper status in buissness and other industries find a better value in agriculture . It is because of this report only ,even 75% of the total popullation of India now also depends on agriculture.

and, Therefore AGRICULTURE remains the backbone of Indian economy.
