Find the equivalent weight of:

a) CaCo3

b) K2So4* Al2(SO4)3*24H2O (Mol. mass=M)

Hello,
The equivalent weight is found by using the simple formula as:
Equivalent weight=molecular mass/number of electrons involved
1)  The molecular mass of CaCO3 is (40+12+3×16)=100g
   Number of electrons involved=2
  Therefore equivalent weight=100/2=50g
2)  The molecular mass of K2SO4 .Al2(SO4)3.24H2O is (2×39+32+16×4+2×27+3(16+16×4)+24(2×1+16)=900g
Number of electrons involved=8
Therefore equivalent weight=900/8=112.5g

Hope it helps.
Cheers!
