Forest and wildlife are vital to the quality of life and environment.
Justify thisstatement by giving three reasons.
Three reasons are given as under.
1. Forests and wildlife provide sustenance to a large number of indigenous and other forest-dependent communities which depend on them for food, drink, medicine, culture, spirituality, etc.
2. Depleting forest and wildlife results in scarcity of food, fodder, water and other basic sustenance needs. This leads to increased drudgery of women as they bear the major responsibility of collecting these essential necessities. This increased work pressure causes serious health problems for women and negligence of home and children has grave social implications.
3. Destruction of forest and wildlife results in extreme climate conditions like severe droughts and floods which results in huge losses to life and property resulting in poverty and impoverishment.
