give four differences between virtual and real image..

The differences between real and virtual images are,

Real image Virtual image
1. The image can be captured in a screen. 1. The image cannot be captured in a screen.
2. The image is always inverted. 2. The image is always erect.
3. Light rays actually meet to form a real image. 3. Light rays do not actually meet to form a virtual image.

An image which can be obtained on a screen is called real image and the image which cannot be obtained on a screen is called virtual image.
In case of mirrors, if the image is formed at the same side of the object, it is called real image. And, if the image is formed at the polished end it is called virtual image.
In case of lenses, image formed at the other end of object is called real, and image formed at same side is called virtual image.

A very simple difference between the two would be that Real Images are formed on the left hand side of the lens/mirror but Virtual Images always formed on the right side of the lens/mirror.

One other difference between is that in the case of Virtual Images, they form when light appears to converge but for Real Images the light actually converges.
