give reasons why:-

1.sugar dissolves faster in hot water than cold water

2.solids are rigid but liquids are fluid

3.ice at 0 degree celcius is more effective in cooling than water at the saMe temperature

4.gases diffuse very fast as compared to liquids or solids

1) When, water is heated it absorbs more energy than cold water and due to this extra energy the molecules tend to move faster and so their occur a weak intermolecular force of attraction between the water molecules which create more space for sugar molecules to dissolve. Hence, sugar dissolves faster in hot water.

2.) Solids are rigid due to strong intermolecular force of attraction which due to less energy than liquid molecules so they have fixed shape, but liquids have comparatively higher energy and so less intermolecular force of attraction which makes the liquid molecules loosely bonded with each other and so they can move and so are called as fluid.

3.)It is due to latent heat, actually the ice will absorb some more energy in the form of latent heat to convert its state from lice of 0 degree celsius to water of 0 degree celsius . So, it absorbs more heat than water and so,ice is more effective in cooling.

4).Actually, gases have least intermolecular force of attraction than solids and liquids so, the molecules of gases have more randomness due to which they are free from each other and can move faster so, when come to diffusion, the gas molecules diffuse faster than solid or liquids.

2.solid are rigid coz it has more intermolecular force n negligible intermolecular space while liquid has weaker intermolecular force than solid n more intermolecular space than solid n hence liquids are fluid n solids are rigid

3.water at 0 degree has latent heat in it so it is hotter than ice at 0 degree n hence 0 degree ice is more effective than water in cooling

4.it has very large intermolecular space n diffuses very easily bt solid n liquid have less intermolecular space bet them than gases
