Helen was close to Nature. She could understand Nature through touch and smell. Discuss the role of nature in Helen's life.

Helen loved being in the lap of nature, even as a child it would have a soothing effect on her. Her education co-existed with it, as her understanding of words and associations came, when she first touched water, and it was spelled on her hand. This love for nature was utilised well by her teacher Miss Sullivan, as many of her lessons were held outdoors. Hence for Helen, her love for nature and her initial education went hand in hand, for she would find comfort in it, that the material world could not provide.
