How can we get PV =NKBT . what is the value of KB?
Hello!
Let's start from the famous ideal gas equation
PV = nRT (1) (this comes as a consequence of the ideal gas laws)
here
R is the gas constant
n is the number of moles
and also
n = N/NA
where
N is the number of molecules
NA is the Avogadro's Number
thus, putting the value of n in equation (1), we get
PV = (N/NA)RT (2)
here also the Boltzmann's Constant
kB = R/NA
or R = NAkB
we can put the value of R in equation (2), thus
PV = (NAkB)(N/NA)T
thus,
PV = NkBT
the value of the Boltzmann's Constant is 1.38 X 10-23 J/K
