Taplow expressed his liking for mr. Harris on one formal day mr. Harris was teaching a lesson in greek one he cracked one of his classical jokes which the whole class didn't understood including him but to seek pleasure out that Taplow laughed to make his teacher pleased but the outcome was not his favour his teacher underestimated Taplow's feeling and stood him up in front of whole class to explain that joke so that everyone can seek pleasure out of it. In his teacher context it was that Taplow had understood greek language very much therefore he is making fun of it. This made Taplow embarrassed in class.
