how does sexual reproduction in plants take place

Dear Student,

Flowers are the reproductive parts of plants, which take part in the process of sexual reproduction. Reproduction in plants can be summarized in the following stages.

  1. The ovule or egg is fertilized by pollen through pollination. In the process of pollination The transfer of pollen from the anther of one flower to stigma of the same flower, or another flower in the same plant, or another flower in a different plant takes place.

  2. The ovules develop into seeds.

  3. These seeds germinate to give rise to new plants.

Hope this helps,

Cheers !!
