how Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium is affected by g ene flow or gene migration ,g enetic drift (changes occurring by chance),m utation ,g enetic recombination .n atural selection

Dear Student,

Hardy-weinberg principle states that allele frequencies in a population remain constant (i.e. they are in equilibrium) from generation to generation unless specific disturbing influences are introduced.

Five factors affects Hardy- weinberg equilibrium and they are:

1. Gene migration or gene flow

2. Genetic drift

3. Mutation

4. Genetic recombination

 5. Natural selection

Gene flow is the transfer of alleles of genes from one population to another. It results in increase in frequency of that allele in the second population. In this way,  Hardy weinberg equlibrium is not maintained.

In same way other four factors also affect the Hardy -weinberg equilibrium.
