How is 'unhappy' a synonym of 'dreadful'?

Dreadful means that if a thing happens, and it is truly bad for you or anyone else or it can be because of some personal or private family problem which you feel is too bad.

Whereas, Unhappy means not to be happy, just being sad and wanting to be alone or it can be we annoyed by someone and are very dissapointed of him/her.

You must have seen unhappy with dreadful in MS Word, it is a compute feature. Dreadful and Unhappy are related whereas there meanings are different.
